A renowned industrialist and chairman of Mehmood Group of Industries, Khawaja Muhammad Masud (80) was kidnapped from a park on Wednesday when he was on morning walk. "It might be an attempt to extort ransom from his family, eye witnesses said that he was kidnapped by two persons at pistol point who reached in the park on a car bearing a number plate of Bahawalpur. They immediately informed the police," SP (Investigation) Nizam Shahid Durrani said.

Khawaja Masud's son Khawaja Jalauddi Roomi is a chief executive of Nishtar Hospital Multan, his another son is president of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, his one son Khawaja Muhammad Younas is an acting chairman of Multan Dryport Trust. He himself served as Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association.

He is exporting grey cloth, cotton yarn, bed sheets and upholstery and textile made ups to China, United States, Germany, Japan, and other countries.

Khawaja Masud never hired any security guard for his personal security and protection.
